Starting in March 2024, Wellington UniVentures is offering the Te Herenga Waka – Victoria University of Wellington community free access to a new professional development programme focused on commercialisation and industry engagement.
The programme, called PD+, is a 20-webinar series delivered through Campus Plus in collaboration with Wellington UniVentures.
Wellington UniVentures’ CEO Pierre Malou says the programme will deliver practical and relevant skills for busy researchers, staff and students at Te Herenga Waka.
“As part of our commitment to building an entrepreneurial culture on campus, we’re offering PD+ for free to everyone at Te Herenga Waka.
“By the end of the programme, participants will have a solid foundation in bringing research to market. They will learn skills like how to secure funding, articulate the impact of their research, and engage with industry and stakeholders,” says Pierre.
With a solid understanding of commercialisation and industry engagement in place, academics can better partner with Wellington UniVentures’ experts to bring their research to the world.
To support delivery, Wellington UniVentures will also host live viewings of the webinars on Kelburn, Pipitea and Gracefield campuses, with Senior Commercialisation Managers present to facilitate discussion about the content and answer questions.
Wellington UniVentures is the first technology transfer office in New Zealand to bring the Campus Plus PD+ programme to its research institute.
Campus Plus New Zealand co-founder Beckie Duffy says the team is delighted to be offering professional development webinars for researchers in New Zealand, in addition to Australia and the UK.
"The PD+ programme from Campus Plus New Zealand enables commercialisation offices to do more with less by providing researchers with access to world-class webinars to help grow their commercial acumen and industry engagement,” adds Beckie.
